PURPOSE: To rigidly attach a lid material to a mouth of a container without damaging the lid material or the mouth by using a pressing means which presses the lid material while changing its position sequentially along a rim of the mouth of the container.
CONSTITUTION: A lid material 20 is placed on a mouth 11 of a container 10, and while a pressing member 31 positioned above it is lowered a rotating driving shaft 34 is rotated to have a cylindrical rotating member 33 rotated. Thus, a bevel gear 36a provided on each auxiliary rotating shaft 36 is engaged with a fixed gear 32 so that each auxiliary rotating shaft 36 is rotated, while a gear 36b provided on each auxiliary rotating shaft 36 is engaged with a gear 37b on each rotating shaft 37 below it so that each rotating shaft 37 rotates in a direction aligned with a moving direction by a rotating member 33. If the pressing member 31 is lowered in this state, a pressing roller 37a provided on each rotating shaft spontaneously rotates to apply pressure sequentially along a rim at the mouth 11 of the container 10, thereby gradually attaching the lid material 20 to the mouth 11 of the container 10.
