Title:
CONTAINER OF LIQUID SAMPLE FOR FLUORESCENT X-RAY ANALYSIS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02285240
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent contamination and damage of an X-ray optical system resulting from breakage of a thin film etc. and to easily fill a liquid sample with reduced influences of air bubbles, thereby enabling application to an on-line automatic analyzing system, by providing an opening portion opened sideways at a container of said liquid sample and a thin film stretched uniformly at said opening portion.

CONSTITUTION: A main body 6 of the container has an opening portion 10 opened upward and an opening portion 11 opened sideways. An outer frame 12 applies uniform tension to a thin film 2, and fixes the periphery of the thin film to the outside of the opening portion 11. When a primary X-ray is radiated sideways to the opening portion 11 via the thin film 2, a fluorescent X-ray is generated from a liquid sample 3, passing through the thin film 2, to be detected. Therefore, even if such an accident occurs that the thin film 2 is broken in handling the container of the liquid sample, the X-ray optical system is less contaminated directly with the leaking liquid sample 3. Moreover, even when air bubbles are formed inside the liquid sample due to the irradiation of the X-ray, the air bubbles rise towards the opening portion 10 and are not present at the place where the liquid sample 3 is radiated with the X-ray. Accordingly, the influences of the air bubbles upon the measuring accuracy are removed.
