PURPOSE: To permit the retention of the quality of articles packaged in a con tainer for many hours, by providing the container with a linear material having oxygen-removing capacity on the inner surface of the container.

CONSTITUTION: The method of using a packaging container is by packing the container with an easily oxidizable substance and sealing the same with a lid formed with oxygen absorbent mixed in its linear material, thereby removing the oxygen present in a free space with a deoxidation agent. As oxygen absor bent, there are used chemicals capable of absorbing oxygen or producing a reducing environment such as various oxygen absorbents, age resisters and antioxidants on an adequate basis and, as oxygen-barrier container, bottles, cans and plastic containers are used. As the material for use in the forming of the linear, polyvinylidene chloride and polyester are used either separately or together, preferably with the oxygen absorbent content of the liner material of 5W20wt.%.
