Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast iron member with which a high-purity aluminum product can be easily prevented from being contaminated due to iron and silicon derived from the cast iron member in handling molten aluminum, and to provided a simple method of manufacturing the cast iron member and a method of producing the high-purity aluminum product from the molten aluminum using the member.SOLUTION: There are provided: a contamination-resistant cast iron member for molten aluminum having a heat-treated oxide film layer formed by blasting a surface of a natural oxide film of a cast iron member produced by sand mold casting and then applying heat treatment to the natural oxide film; and a method of manufacturing the contamination-resistant cast iron member for molten aluminum. There is further provided a method for producing an aluminum molded product having an Fe content of 0.5 ppm or less and an Si content of 0.5 ppm or less, the method comprising a step of preparing the molten aluminum having an Fe content of 0.5 ppm or less and an Si content of 0.5 ppm or less in a molten metal holding container, and a step of pouring the prepared molten aluminum into a casting mold from a sprue made of the contamination-resistant cast iron member for molten aluminum.
