To improve operation characteristics and convenience and enhance precision in discharge operation by suppressing variation of individual products having a content discharge mechanism for a pump type container having a content discharge opening which does not move in association with a discharge operation.
A discharge opening (a hole part 13a) is made in a form to discharge a content in a horizontal direction (in a direction substantially perpendicular to a vertical direction of a pump type container) and an operation part (an operation button 1) is made in a form to be pressed in the rear side of a horizontal direction opposite to the content discharge direction. When a shift from a discharge mode to a discharge completion mode is made during a discharge mode setting operation, a first skirt part (a rear skirt part 2b) advances to a hole part for transiting (a hole part 3c), and at the same time, a second skirt part (a front skirt part 2a) is made to contact a release action part (a protruding part 3e). Thus, an intermediate storage area D communicates with an inner space of the container, and this reduces a content pressure acting on a pressure accumulation type discharge valve (an annular edge part 9a and an annular tapered surface 10a), setting the discharge valve in a closed state.
