To provide a content display device and a display control method of the same, allowing automatic decision of whether to stop display processing and allowing display processing control corresponding to decision results, even when a user not carrying a mobile terminal or the like storing reproduction permission information is present in the vicinity of the content display device.
A projector 130 includes: a projection unit 11 for projecting content information; an identification information holding part 141 for holding user identification information for identifying a permission user permitted with authority to view the content information projected by the projection unit 11; an imaging device 109 for photographing a photographic subject, and for output of captured image data; a user identification part 134 for deciding whether the photographic subject is the permission user based on the user identification information and the captured image data; and a projection control part 136 for stopping the projection of the content information by the projection unit 11 when the user identification part 134 cannot decide that the photographic subject is the permission user.
