PURPOSE: To improve casting efficiency by providing plural pouring devices above a conveyer and making the selective use thereof as well as the supply, etc. of different kinds of molten metals.

CONSTITUTION: An endless metallic belt 2 moving horizontally is disposed to the belt type conveyer 3a. Plural pieces of the pouring devices 7a each consisting of a tundish having a pouring port 4 to pour a molten metal 5 onto the belt 2 are provided above the conveyer 3a. The molten metals are supplied from the ports 4a by using successively the plural pouring devices 7a and a steel plate 10 is continuously cast. The continuous casting is thus made possible without downtime by using successively the plural pouring devices 7a and the large change of the thickness of the plate 10 is made possible as well. The overlap casting is also possible by supplying different kinds of the molten metals. the casting efficiency is improved by the above-mentioned method.
