Title:
CONTINUOUS CASTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009018324
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a continuous casting device which can make compatible the reduction of inclusion in a continuously-cast product, and the spout flow-rate control of a rod stopper.

As a result of a region 2b located in molten metal in a trough 6 being formed into a linear or oval shape at its cross section, an eddy current (Karman current) is not generated at the circumference of the rod stopper 2 which is located above the bottom of the trough 6, exists in a flow of the molten metal, and is formed into an oval shape at its cross section, so that the molten metal is prevented from flowing into the spout at high speed due to the generation of the eddy current. Consequently, the intrusion can be prevented from being mixed in a final product resulting from the pull-in of a molten-metal oxide film and the intrusion existing on the surface of the molten metal in the trough 6 generated by a negative pressure effect caused by the flow-in of the high-speed molten metal into the spout 10.
