Title:
CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD FOR STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62263850
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To relax the drawing resistance between solidified shell and a mold and to prevent the break-down of the solidified shell by applying lubricant on the inner face of the mold and starting an oscillation at before starting of the casting slab drawing.

CONSTITUTION: The lubricant is applied on the inner face of the mold 12, which is set in a continuous casting apparatus 10 after applying. A dummy bar 22 is inserted into the mold 12, and molten steel 24 is poured from a tundish 14. Before pouring the molten steel 24, a cooling steel 25 is set in the mold 12, to promote cooling at a tongue part 23 at the time of pouring the molten steel 24. Next, powder 26 is added on the molten steel surface. At the time of about 40sec after starting of pouring the molten steel 24, an oscillation device 20 is started to start the oscillation of the mold 12. In this way, sticking at between the inner face of the mold 12 and the solidified shell is detached and by invasion of the powder 26 into the gap formed, the lubrication between the solidified shell and the mold 12 is promoted. After starting of the oscillation, the dummy bar 22 engaging with the tongue part 23 is drawn to start to draw the casting slab.
