PURPOSE: To shorten the required time and to obtain an Al bar having the high uniformity of surface characteristics by degreasing and annealing the Al bar by a laser treatment in a stage before coiling in the stage for production of the Al bar.
CONSTITUTION: The Al bar is subjected to the laser treatment while one sheet thereof travels in the stage of the separator or slitter of the stage for production of the Al bar or between the separator or slitter and the coiler, etc., so that the contact angle between the surface of the Al bar after the treatment and pure water attains <80°. The Al bar is degreased and annealed while one sheet thereof travels and, therefore, the Al bar is more efficiently degreased than the cast where the Al bar is degreased by heating the Al bar in a coiled state. The tempering the Al bar to the necessary mechanical strength is thus possible without being governed by the degree of degreasing.
