Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a composition excellent in heat resistance, water resistance and solvent resistance and suitable for radiator tanks by melting and impregnating a polyamide resin into glass fiber bundle whose surface is treated with a treating agent consisting of a copolymer of an unsaturated mono-dicarboxylic acid with an unsaturated monomer and a silane-based coupling agent.
CONSTITUTION: This continuous filament-reinforced material is obtained by melting and impregnating a polyamide resin into a glass fiber bundle whose surface is treated with a treating agent consisting of a copolymer of an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid or an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid with one or more kinds of unsaturated monomer and a silane coupling agent. The copolymer has ≥1000 average molecular weight and is soluble in an alkali aqueous medium. A copolymer having 30-75mol% unsaturated dicarboxylic acid content is used as the copolymer. The surface treatment is carried out so that an amount as the solid content attached to glass fiber becomes 0.3-2wt.%. The glass content is 20-90wt.%. The reinforcing material is directly subjected to injection molding with the polyamide resin.
