To provide a continuous packaging method which brings about reduction in the number of steps of moving a wrapper forming guide and shortening of a time period necessary for a break-in, by using a hemmed wrapper, i.e. a wrapper having hem seals formed thereon beforehand, to thereby contribute to relatively early shifting of its operation mode to full-scale wrapping operation, and to provide a continuous packaging device using the hemmed wrapper.
According to the continuous packaging method, the hemmed web-shaped wrapper Ff which is flatly folded, and has hems h formed on four corners in cross section beforehand and gussets g folded inward from the sides, is unreeled from a roll R. During moving operation, the hemmed web-shaped wrapper Ff in a folded state is developed sideways by a triangular plate 30 as a developing means 8. The developed hemmed web-shaped wrapper Fw is supplied to a horizontal bag filling and packaging machine, and then cylindrically closed again in a manner of wrapping a product mounted on the wrapper, followed by sealing peripheral portions of the hemmed web-shaped wrapper with a sealing means. In this manner the break-in time is shortened, and the volume of the wasted wrapper is reduced.
