To continuously carry out recycle of expanded polystyrene at ordinary temperatures by precipitating the expanded polystyrene into a mixture of pinene with a petroleum-based light gas oil or light fuel oil to form mass of polystyrene.

(A) Colorless and transparent pine essential oil (terpene pine oil) obtained by steam distillation or vacuum distillation of raw turpentine consisting essentially of pinene is mixed with (B) 15-25% petroleum-based light gas oil such as benzole, white spindle oil, white liquid paraffin, colorless mineral spirit or white oil or light fuel oil to afford a base oil of recycle. Expanded polystyrene, as necessary, formed into fine pieces is precipitated into a base oil and the oil is agitated as necessary, the mixture is sometimes agitated and the precipitate is taken out as polystyrene having gum-like or ball-like mass and the above operation for precipitating other expanded polystyrene is repeated. On other hand, the taken out polystyrene mass is spread into about 5mm width and applied by hot air and slightly left base oil is removed.
