PURPOSE: To continuously perform a high area-reducing work for a 1 metallic rod especially a hard-to-work material or a deformed cross-section material by combining mechanisms, in which force for holding and thrusting in the rear side of a die is applied to the base material of metallic rod, with another mechanism in which force for holding and drawing in the front side of the die is imparted to the working metallic rod.
CONSTITUTION: The machine is provided with a mechanism 6 which, in the rear side with the center of the caliber of a working die 2 as its axial line 3, holds and thrusts the metallic rod 1 of base material pressed and held by a pair of connecting shoes 8 rotatably driven with a part provided moving partially in parallel with the axial line. A mechanism 7 is combined in which a part similarly moving partially in parallel is provided in the front side of the die 2 and in which the working metallic rod 1 pressed and held by a pair of rotatably moving connecting shoes 8 is clamped and drawn. In addition, the equipment is provided which holds the tip end part that have passed the die 2 by a chuck with a lug, makes it linked with the holding and thrusting mechanism 6, passes the die 2 by only a required length, and performs a pointing working. Thus, the applicable working base material is a solid material, a hollow material or a material of which a different metal is filled inside a tube.
