Title:
CONTRAST-IMPROVED SHORT (T) TWO-TYPE MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3168045
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a slice selective excitation method and device to allow the imaging of nuclear species with very short T2 by performing at least two different excitations and combining collected data to obtain signals for a desired slice.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse sequence scans a k-space to be a half of two, as shown in a figure. The first half excitation starts at kmin and ends at a k-space original point with a RF peak. At this point, a readout gradient is applied to collect data. The second half excitation starting at kmax and ending at the original point is applied. This is similar to the first excitation, except for a negative gradient. The same readout gradient is applied to collect data, so that two signals obtained are added together. In this way, no refocusing is required. Readout is performed right after the half of a main RF lobe is applied. An echo time TB can be a RF transmitter stop time or so.
