To provide a control apparatus of driving device for vehicle that can start an engine while suppressing the generation of driving force of the vehicle, even when shift range switching cannot be done in a state that a shift range which does not shut off power transmission in the vehicle is applied.

The apparatus includes: a vehicle movement suppressing means 116, wherein all hydraulic frictional engagement devices in an automatic transmission 18 is released to shut off power transmission of the automatic transmission 18, and electric wheel brakes WB1 to WB4 are operated to generate braking torque in each wheel while electric wheel brakes WB3, WB4 are operated as electric parking brakes, and thereby suppressing the movement of the vehicle, when the shift range switching cannot be done in a state that a D range or R range is applied; and an engine start control means 110 which allows a start of the engine 12 after the movement of the vehicle is suppressed and which starts the engine 12 in response to an engine start requirement.
