PURPOSE: To prevent the omission or missing of an output character, by detecting registered pie character at the time of disappearance while registering a required pattern.
CONSTITUTION: When a control code is a printing code, a control apparatus 1 judges whether the printing code is a pie character code and checks whether pie character is registered when said printing code is the pie character one. When the printing code is not the pie character code, the transfer of data is ended and the non-registration of pie character is reported to a processing apparatus 5 to perform the registering demand of unregistered pie character. When pie character disappears at the time of the cutting-off of a power source, the control apparatus reports the disappearance of the pie character pattern in a Chinese character output apparatus 15 to the processing apparatus 5 and, when the Chinese character output apparatus 15 is electrically restored and is made usable, this state is detected and electrical restoration is reported to the processing apparatus 5 while the processing apparatus 5 issues preload or printing output demand. By this method, the omission or missing of a character can be perfectly prevented.
