To provide a control apparatus for a starter/generator of an aircraft electrical power system to reduce cost and weight of system equipment in an aircraft, by providing the aircraft electrical power system having functions as a starter and a generator by using a single control/power unit.
During a start mode of operation, AC power is supplied from a starting converter 106 to a main stator of the starter/generator 110, and AC power is supplied from a control apparatus 202 to an exciter stator 114 of the starter/generator, so as to revolve and drive an aircraft engine. On the other hand, during a generation mode after the engine is started, DC power is supplied from the control apparatus to the starter/generator so as to produce a regulated voltage from the starter/generator.
