PURPOSE: To obtain sufficient brake power even when an acceleration quality of a vehicle is fully increased, by limiting a target opening, obtained on the basis of an accelerator control amount, to a value within the limit opening obtained from a control amount-limit opening characteristic.
CONSTITUTION: An accelerator control amount detecting means (a) detects a control amount in an accelerator of accelerator pedal or the like, and a target opening arithmetic means (b), on the basis of the detected control amount, calculates the target opening of a throttle valve. While a limit opening arithmetic means (c), using said detected control amount, calculates the limit opening from a control amount-limit opening characteristic, and a target opening limiting means (d) limits said target opening to a value within said limit opening. And a throttle valve opening control means (e), to which the limited target opening is given as a control target opening, controls a throttle valve opening. In this way, the desired end is effectively attained.
