PURPOSE: To enhance vehicle comfort by supplying traveling pedal activity, its average value, and the average value of the traveling pedal position to a fuzzy calculator as other input values, and generating an output variable which features the driving operation behavior of a driver when determining operating values.

CONSTITUTION: A signal processing part 22 processes signals supplied from a variety of sensors and the like, e.g. signals indicative of traveling pedal position (dk), vehicle peed (nab) and the like, and inputs the processed signals to a fuzzy logic part 23. The fuzzy logic part 23 converts these pieces of input information into property values through fuzzy logic processing. In this case, traveling pedal activity (ddk), the average value ddkmittel of the traveling pedal activity, and the average value dkmittel of the traveling pedal position are supplied as other input values. An output variable which features the driving operation behavior of a driver is thereby generated during the determination of operating values, and the operating values are determined with the output variable taken into account. A transmission control device 6 is controlled depending on the results determined.
