Abstract:
PURPOSE:To keep a driving force at a proper value, carry out smooth starting, and facilitate the control of an accelerator by basically switching over a sub- transmission to a high speed side and maintaining the high speed side at the time of detecting the shifting of a shift range to a backing range. CONSTITUTION:A computer 6 carries out the speed change control of the 1st-4th gear stages of a main transmission portion 2 via a hydraulic control means 8 based on the vehicle speed and throttle opening signal of sensors 61, 62 and according to a prescribed speed change chart. At the time of receiving a shifting signal to a backing range from a shift range sensor 63, when a sub- transmission portion 4 is placed on a low speed side, it is switched over to a high speed side via an oil pressure control means 10 whereas, when it is placed on the high speed side, switchover to the low speed side is prohibited to properly keep a driving force. However, when the signal of a sensor 64 indicates a brake opening condition, an engine load is in an increasing tendency, and the backing vehicle speed is in a reducing tendency, judgment is formed to be the lack of driving force and the sub-transmission portion 4 is switched over to the low speed side maintaining the low speed side.
