PURPOSE: To prevent a hand, a finger, and the like being caught between the door of an elevator car and the doorway pillar of the cage, in the opening operation of the door.

CONSTITUTION: A floor mat sensor 9 to detect that a passenger is approaching to a floor 8 near the car door 2 of an elevator ; an announcing device 6 and a speaker 4 to issue a message to passengers in the car; a car door opening/ closing mechanism 3 to open and close the car door; and a control panel 5 to operate the announcing device 6 depending on the detecting signal of the sensor 9 prior to the opening of the car door, so as to give the attention to separate from the car door to passengers, and at the same time, to control the car door opening/closing mechanism 3 so as to control the opening different from the normal door opening condition; are provided.
