To provide a control device of a hybrid vehicle for protecting a motor while reducing cost and size by simplifying a cooling system and reducing the size of the motor.
When a motor MG is rotated at a predetermined rotation speed or higher by drive rotations of an engine EG, and controlled to zero torque by a zero torque control means 21, and the temperature of the motor MG reaches an upper limit threshold based on a temperature upper limit threshold map, a motor protection control means 40 lowers the rotation speed of the engine EG. The rotation speed of the motor MG is reduced, and the amount of heat generation is reduced through the zero torque control, so that the temperature of the motor MG is lowered, and the motor MG can be protected. A low-cost and compact hybrid drive device HV can be provided without increasing performance of a cooling structure of the motor MG or enlarging the motor MG.
