To restrain a shift shock caused by erroneous determination of a target gear position, when performing rotation synchronous control in shifting of a manual transmission.
The rotation synchronous control is prohibited by determining that a target engine speed tNe set in response to a second speed is higher by a predetermined value N or more than a transmission input shaft rotating speed Nt detected when gear fastening is fixed (illustrated (a)), when erroneously determining that a target gear position predicted in response to detection of a shift lever position is the second seed, when a shift lever is shifted down to a fourth speed from a fifth speed. Thus, an engine speed NE is reduced, and the engine speed when fastening a clutch can be approached to the transmission input shaft rotating speed Nt being an original target engine speed, and a thrusting-up (acceleration) shock can be restrained.
