Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an internal combustion engine which properly performs the switching of a state for generating a tumble flow and a state for suppressing the tumble flow, and the switching of a stoichiometric mode and a lean mode without accompanying a large torque shock, in a control device of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A control device of an internal combustion engine controls the internal combustion engine 10 having a throttle valve 66 and a TCV 72. The control device selectively obtains a stoichiometric mode for operating the internal combustion engine in a stoichiometric region, and a lean mode for operating the internal combustion engine 10 in a lean region. The control device performs processing for bringing a TCV 72 into a valve-closed state for generating a tumble flow, and processing for bringing the TCV 72 into a valve-opened state for suppressing the tumble flow. The control device performs processing for switching the TCV 72 to the valve-closed state from the valve-opened state during the execution of the lean mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
