Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an opportunity of performing premixed charge compression ignition.SOLUTION: When an engine operation state belongs to a third region R3, a first pre-fuel injection is performed first, then a second pre-fuel injection is performed, and main fuel injection is performed one time to perform premixed charge compression ignition (PCCI) while a glow plug is stopped. When the engine operation state belongs to a fourth region R4, the main fuel injection is performed one time to perform diffusion combustion while the glow plug is stopped. When the engine operation state belongs to a second region R2, the main fuel injection is performed one time without performing the pre-fuel injection to perform the PCCI combustion while the glow plug is operated. When the engine operation state belongs to a first region R1, the pre-fuel injection is performed one time first, and then the main fuel injection is performed one time to perform the PCCI combustion while the glow plug is operated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
