Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize an installed battery pack even when a power storage system is configured without considering a residual lifetime of the battery pack having a plurality of secondary batteries.SOLUTION: A controller 6 of a power storage system 1 having a plurality of battery packs 52 each having one or more secondary batteries 17, a plurality of BMUs 51 for monitoring a state of respective battery packs 52, and a PCS 4, includes: a first switching unit 10 for switching whether the battery pack 52 is connected with the PCS 4 or not; a second switching unit 20 for switching a plurality of first battery groups 58 to which a plurality of battery packs 52 are connected in parallel into a series connection or a parallel connection; a determination unit for determining whether the battery pack 52 can be connected with the PCS 4 or not based on information of the battery pack 52 output from each monitoring unit 6; and a control unit for controlling the first switching unit 10 and the second switching unit 20 based on determination results of the determination unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
