The control device 18 of steering the running toy 1, which changes the directions of front wheels 2c and 2c by a steering device 20, includes luminescence sections 11 and 12, which emit infrared rays 1 and 2 of different wavelength, a light intercepting part 13, which intercepts the reflected light of the infrared rays 1 and 2 reflected by the obstacles in the forward diagonal right and left directions of the running toy 1, and a coil conducting control part 19, which controls the steering device 20 so as to turn the front wheels 2c and 2c in a direction of avoiding a collision with the obstacle during only a predetermined time in response to the wavelength of the infrared rays which the light intercepting part 13 intercepts.
