A core sampling biopsy device is provided with a probe assembly 40, a holster 140, a fluid collecting system 22, a control unit 342 and a power feed source 24. The probe assembly 40 is provided with a borer 70 extending to the tip side from a hollow handle, and it is connected to the fluid collecting system 22 via vacuum tubes 94, 136. A rotating motor and a translating motor are stored in the holster 140, and the revolving speed of the rotating motor is controlled in response to the output of a sensor annexed to it. The translating motor is driven in response to the output of a sensor annexed to it, and it controls the translation motion speed and translation motion position of a cutter in the borer 70.
