The control device 3 for a vehicle drive device 1 includes a first engagement device CS, a rotary electric machine 12, and a second engagement device C1 in order, on a power transmission path that connects an input member I connected to an internal combustion engine 11 in a drivable manner with an output member O connected to a wheel 15 in a drivable manner. The control device 3 also includes: a specific slip acceleration control unit 46 accelerating a vehicle 6 in the slip engagement state of both first engagement device CS and the second engagement device C1; and a torque adjustment control unit 47 controlling the first engagement device CS, the second engagement device C1, and the rotary electric machine 12 so that a torque capacity of the first engagement device CS, a torque capacity of the second engagement device C1, and electric power generation torque are in a prescribed balance relation upon the completion of specific slip acceleration control.
