Title:
CONTROL OF DIRECT-COUPLED FCC RISER CYCLONE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3942653
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably maintain fluidized catalytic cracking by keeping the pressure in a riser cyclone in operation higher than that in a reactor vessel and by keeping the pressure in a direct-coupled cyclone low.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrocarbon feed is brought into contact with a fluidized catalyst in a riser reaction zone 10, and the resultant reaction mixture is sent to a separation zone 22 of a riser cyclone 20. The separation zone pressure is measured. The reaction mixture is separated, and a decomposed hydrocarbon vapor and a coke-attached decomposition catalyst are produced. The decomposed hydrocarbon vapor is recovered and conveyed through a secondary cyclone 60 to a rectification and vapor recovery system. The coke-attached decomposition catalyst is conveyed to a stripping zone 50' and separated with a fresh stripping gas, producing a stripped catalyst and a stripping waste gas. The pressure of the stripping waste gas is measured. The waste gas is conveyed to a separation zone 22' at a flow rate proportionate to the difference between the measured separation pressure and the measured waste gas pressure.
