To provide a control information rewritable disk drive device which can rewrite control information stored in a ROM with simple constitution only by performing simple operation at an arbitrary point of time.
This device is equipped with a disk rotation drive part 3, a disk medium 10 which is loaded in the disk rotation drive part 3 and stored with control information the rewritable ROM 4 stored with the control information, a control information rewrite command generation part 7, and a CPU 2 which controls the operation of respective parts according to the control information; and the control information rewrite command generation 7 is placed in operation to supply a control information rewrite command to the CPU 2 and when the disk medium 10 is loaded in the disk rotation drive part 3, the CPU 2 rewrites the control information stored in the ROM 4 with the new control information read out of the disk medium 10.
