Title:
CONTROL OF LEAF AND PLANT-HOPPERS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55139308
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control vermin in paddy fields effectively, by treating the water surface of paddy fields with 2-imino-tetrahydro-1,3,5-thiadiazin-4-one having an insecticidal activity on leaf- and plant-hoppers, in the form of water-floating granules.

CONSTITUTION: The surface of paddy fields is treated with a compound of the formula (R1, R2, and R3 are substituents), supported on a mineral of plant granular base, having a specific gravity ≤1, and a size over a 65-mesh screen (the Tyler standard sieve) and an insecticidal activity on leaf- and plant-hoppers, to control the vermin. The compound of the formula has poor water-solubility, and high adsorbability by soil, and the insecticidal activity cannot be fully produced perse. The use of the granules however permits the floating of a compound for a long term, avoids the adsorption by soil, and maintains a dense drug distribution at the base of plants, due to the wind and waves or depth.
