Abstract:

To provide a control method for an air conditioner capable of detecting surely and instantaneously dew condensation generated in a diffusing port of an indoor unit, capable of avoiding a damage caused by condensed water in a room, capable of enhancing reliability of the air conditioner, and capable of eliminating excessive protection control and widening an operation range to enhance an air conditioning capacity, by taking a generation cause of the dew condensation into consideration, and by executing operation control allowed within a situation thereof.

A dew condensation sensor 31 using a principle of electric insulation release is fixed along a substantially longitudinal full length of the diffusing port 5 of the indoor unit, to detect the dew condensation. The air conditioner is operation-controlled to evade the condensed water from dropping in the room, by taking a dew condensation generation condition into consideration. A dew point temperature of sucked air is also detected, an air volume of an indoor fan is increased when an evaporation temperature in an evaporation heat exchanger is lower than the dew point temperature, and an operation frequency of a compressor is lowered to be operated until the evaporation temperature gets to the dew point temperature or more.
