Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a running state accurately graspable as well as to aim at the promotion of miniaturization and low accuracy of a device, by altering a control method for speed ratio based on whether the running state of a vehicle is in a low powered range or not, and controlling the speed ratio based on engine load at the low powered range. CONSTITUTION:A change gear ratio of the vehicle continuously variable transmission connected to an engine is determined based on the running state of a vehicle, thereby controlling the change gear ratio (step SD). In this cas, as the running state of the vehicle, first, at least car speed, required engine power capacity and engine load are detected (step SA). Next, on the basis of the car speed and the engine power capacity, whether the running state of the vehicle is in an output range or not is judged (step SB). In succession, when the vehicle running is in a low powered state, the change gear ratio is determined based on the car speed and the engine load (step SC). On the other hand, when the vehicle running state is not in the low powered range, the change gear ratio is determined based on the car speed and the required engine power capacity (step SE).
