To provide a control method and an apparatus of a garbage disposer efficiently drying garbage even if atmospheric humidity varies, and further finishing drying at a preferable timing.

In this garbage disposer control method, garbage charged into a treating vessel is cut or crushed and agitated, irradiated with microwave, and heated and dried by sending air. The atmospheric humidity Hi introduced into the treating vessel is detected and a reference humidity 59 of the atmospheric humidity is set in advance. The apparatus is operated at a constant irradiation energy and a constant air volume by controlling irradiation energy of the microwave and air sending rate, to cause a constant rate drying period with a constant discharge temperature To when the atmospheric humidity Hi is higher than the reference humidity 59. When the atmospheric humidity Hi is lowered than the reference humidity 59, at least the irradiation energy is increased or air sending rate is decreased, to keep a constant rate drying period.
