Abstract:

To provide a control method by which a mobile robot can easily come back to a position such as a prescribed base station through wireless communication.

A control method for a mobile robot 20 comprises the mobile robot 20 capable of self-travelling and a base station 30 for performing the control of the mobile robot 20 configured to transmit and receive signals with the base station 30 wirelessly. The mobile robot 20 and the base station 30 include a storage portion for storing history information of the directivity direction of an antenna at the position where receiving sensitivity of the signal from a communication partner becomes the maximum in the case that the mobile robot 20 moves away from the base station 30 and reception intensity of signals is reduced below the predetermined threshold value, and control the mobile robot 20 to come back to the base station 30 based on the history information recorded in the storage portion when the robot 20 intends to come back to the base station 30.
