Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve drive unit in an engine, which drives the opening and closing of the control valve provided in the connecting holes that connect the main chamber and the sub chamber, as well as drives the lift that forces ignition and combustion in the sub chamber by a cam type valve mechanism, and which controls the drive of the lift that creates an ultra lean mixture in the main chamber by a hydraulic valve unit.
SOLUTION: According to the control valve drive unit in the engine, a main chamber 1, sub chamber 2 and connecting hole 13 are formed in the combustion chamber member 10 located at the cylinder head 7. The connecting hole 13 opens and closes according to the drive of a control valve 4. The control valve 4, intake valve 16, and exhaust valve 18 are driven open and closed by a cam type valve mechanism 6. The control valve 4 is driven by a hydraulic valve unit 3 provided separately, and is controlled by instructions from a controller 30 in response to the engine load. An ultra lean mixture is created in the main chamber 1 and combustion that retards the generation of NOx is achieved.
