Abstract:
To provide a controller that can improve performance of data transfer between a storage region on a memory address space of a host and a storage region of a storage medium mapped on a virtual storage medium.SOLUTION: A controller is configured to comprise: access request receiving means 1; transfer region calculating means 2; storage medium selecting means 3; and transfer processing content notifying means 4. The transfer region calculating means 2 calculates a third address that designates a region on a storage medium corresponding to a first address which designates a region on a virtual storage region received from a host. The storage medium selecting means 3 monitors a load of the storage medium, and selects a second storage medium having the smallest load. When the second storage medium is newly selected, the transfer region calculating means 2 calculates a third address on the second storage medium. The transfer processing content notifying means 4 outputs a second address and the third address as transfer processing content notification. The second address designates a region of the host that performs data transfer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
