CONSTITUTION: A plurality of elevator shaft switches A, B, C, D, E, each of which is mounted in a predetermined position of each floor of an elevator shaft and in a cage and turned on and off as the cage travels along the elevator shaft, detect the respective level positions of floors, and the pulse value of an up-down counter at that time is stored in a pulse data set operation control portion 1. Them a consistency judging portion 7 checks the pattern of combination of the ON and OFF states of the plurality of elevator shaft switches with a preset registration pattern, thereby checking consistency. Further, a check operation control portion 8 checkes whether pulse data are precisely set against the deviation of installation of each elevator shaft switch.
