PURPOSE: To enable excellent control of fuel injection time through an electrically controlled hydraulic servomechanism, by providing a control means for injection time later than that at the starting of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: An injection time control mechanism is provided in a drive line for a fuel injection pump. A shaft 2, which is driven by an engine, and the rotary shaft 3 of the fuel injection pump are connected to each other through a differential gear mechanism. When a battery switch is turned on before the starting of the engine, a solenoid valve 37 is temporalily opened and a piston 31 acts so that a piston 10 is moved rightward to a prescribed spark advancement position by a spring 32 to set injection time for the starting. As a result, the starting performance at the time of turn-on of a key switch is improved. When the engine has reached idling rotational frequency, the oil pressure of a pump 17 opens a valve 33 to hold a piston 30 in its left-hand limit position and release the piston 10 so that injection time later than that at the start can be set. According to this constitution, the injection time of the engine can be widely controlled depending on the various kinds of demand on the engine.
