To solve the problem in which: detecting a failure in RAID degrades storage means, reads out storage means other than the storage means of interest, and records a content into preliminary storage means; however, if any of the storage means other than the degraded storage means fails in the middle of recording, it may lose data in the content to be recorded into the preliminary storage means.SOLUTION: Provided is a controller for an information processing device provided with a plurality of storage means constituting RAID, and that comprises: degrading means for, when a failure is detected in first storage means, degrading the first storage means from the constituent of RAID while keeping it being associated therewith; first restoration means for reading storage means other than the first storage means, and recording a storage content of the first storage means into a preliminary storage means; and second restoration means for, when a failure is detected in second storage means different from the first storage means in the middle of recording into the preliminary storage means, reading the first storage means, and recording the storage content of the first storage means into the preliminary storage means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
