PURPOSE: To improve the control performance of a press and to prolong the life of a controller, by utilizing a microcomputer for a press device which performs control which corresponds to the rotational angle of the crank shaft of the press.

CONSTITUTION: A controller which performs control in accordance with the prescribed angle of the crank shaft of a press device is provided with a microcomputer 1 which performs a press and a comparator 6 which compares a signal from a detecting means 3 for the rotational angle of the crank shaft of the press with a signal from a microcomputer 1. The signal of a preset rotational angle from the microcomputer 1 is compared with the signal from the rotational angle detecting means 3 by the comparator 5 and when both the signal coincides with each other, a coincidence signal is applied to the microcomputer 1 to output a control signal for press control which corresponds to the rotational angle of the crank shaft.
