PURPOSE: For effective denitrification of waste water, BOD and T-N values of incoming waste water are measured and organic material is added to the water to maintain the ratio of BOD to T-N at 4:1 to 8:1 in anaerobic denitrification treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The anaerobic tanks 1 are used to denitrificate waste water and the aerobic tanks 2 are used to oxidize and nitrificate its BOD components. The incoming and outgoing water are analyzed to find the ratio COD (BOD) to T-N valves and when the ratio falls below a specifed value, the control units 4 actuate 7 to feed organic material 6. Then, according to the flow, both the tanks 1 and 2 are made aerobic condition to operate BOD oxidation and nitrication processing. Next, waste water is first charged to the tanks 2 which have been changed to anerobic. Similar procedures are repeated in sequence.
