PURPOSE: To efficiently attain single card processing by automatically executing the insertion of printing sheets from an insertor, printing line feeding, discharging of sheets, and message editing processing for a card.

CONSTITUTION: An output data preparation part of an application program 51 in a memory informs the start of single card processing to an edition processing part 13. Before an insersion part for single cards starts the first printing of a definition body 53, the processing part 13 outputs a command to insert a single card to an insertor 16. A line feeding and printing part calculates the printing position of each item included in an item group, a commands the insertor 16 to feed lines and prints out data of one line in each printing position. Thus all the items included in the prescribed item group are printed out by repeating said line feeding and printing. After outputting the last item included in the item group, a discharging part commands the insertor 16 to discharge the single card.
