Title:
A/D CONVERSION CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01190030
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the resolution by 1 bit by amplifying an input signal twice and reflecting the result at a setting voltage by means of one AD converter.

CONSTITUTION: A comparator 13 discriminates whether an input signal 1 is over or lower than the comparison level 4 and outputs an A/D conversion most significant bit 3 representing logic '1' or '0' accordingly. A noninverting output 5 has an amplitude twice the input signal 1, the inverted output 6 has an inverted amplitude being twice the input signal 1. A switch 14 selects either a noninverting output 5 or an inverted output in response to the most significant bit 3 of A/D conversion being an output of the comparator 13 to form the A/D conversion output 7. Thus, the resolution is increased by one bit more than the resolution of the A/D converter.
