A description information display means 3 reads the candidate for words and phrases of KANA/KANJI conversion object and its usage out of the description information buffer 5 to display when a paraphrased word conversion key for outputting the candidate for the paraphrased word and phrase is depressed. Further, in a paraphrased word and phrase selection means 4, an operator designates and selects the candidate of the paraphrased of word and phrase of the KANA/KANJI conversion object word and phrase displayed by a description information display means 3. Thus, the KANA/KANJI conversion supporting the description of the expression intended by the operator can be realized.
