PURPOSE: To prevent the oscillation of molten steel in a converter and the vibration of the converter itself by additionally providing another tuyere at a specified position in the title converter having plural tuyeres in two parallel rows.
CONSTITUTION: Plural bottom-blowing tuyeres 5 are provided on symmetrical parallel lines 3 and 3 on both sides of a diametric line 2 at the bottom parallel to the trunnion of a converter and symmetrically to the line 2 in a refining furnace such as the conventional converter. Another tuyere 6 is provided in one of the two bottom regions separated by the line 2, on a diametric line 4 vertically intersecting the line 2 at its center, and at a distance (y) of 1.5W3.0 times the interval (l) between the tuyeres 5 from the line 2. Two tuyeres 8 and 8 are also provided in one of the regions separated by the line 2, in the bottom region enclosed with the parallel straight lines 9 and 10 at the distance of 1.5W3.5 times the distance L between the tuyere rows from the line 2 and the parallel straight lines 11 and 12 at the distance of 0.25 times the furnace bottom diameter D from the line 4, and symmetrically to the diametric line D.
