The conveying system includes: tracks (100) having two tracks (100a, 100b) provided in parallel to one another; a temporary storage rack (520) provided between the two tracks; and conveying vehicles (200) that travel along the tracks and each transfers the article (400) onto the temporary storage rack. The temporary storage rack is provided at a position, as viewed in the vertical direction, where the temporary storage rack at least partially overlaps the conveying vehicle for transferring the article, and at a height where the transferred article does not interfere with the conveying vehicles.
