PURPOSE: To convey containers with high capacity without the fall of storage articles in the containers at the time of conveying while enclosing articles successively into the respective containers of a container group between plural article storage sections by providing a roller conveyor with driving force transmission members, driving cutoff members and a braking device.
CONSTITUTION: The respective containers 3 of a container group formed by a container group forming device are started/stopped smoothly while being in mutual contact so as to be conveyed successively to an article storage section in the lower reaches. Since the stop of the containers 3 is performed by frictional force generated by the frictional contact of brake members 47 with rollers 12A, the containers 3 can be stopped smoothly. Also, since the driving of the containers 3 is performed by frictional force generated by the frictional contact of driving force transmission members 41 with the rollers 12A, the containers 3 can be started smoothly. Storage articles in the container 3 can be thereby conveyed without falling. As a result, there is no need to raise up the previously stored articles in storage work in the following article section.
